FossilFree4Industry
The flagship project “Fossilfree4Industry” represents a best-practice model with significant potential for replication when it comes to future solutions, processes and methods in the field of industrial decarbonisation. It demonstrates that phasing out fossil fuels in industry is both possible and economically viable. This will significantly accelerate the regional energy transition and help the region become a model region for the whole of Austria. The lessons learnt from this project can subsequently be applied to a wide range of other regions and countries.
Green Transformation Academy Austria
Styria is consolidating its education programme to prepare businesses for the green transition. To this end, Graz University of Technology, FH Joanneum, the Styrian University of Teacher Education, the Styrian Chamber of Commerce and Green Tech Valley have founded the Green Transformation Academy Austria, a hub for training and further education programmes in the field of climate neutrality. The aim is to establish a lifelong learning ecosystem across Austria.

HI2 Valley
Through 18 projects, HI2 Valley is driving the development of a large-scale hydrogen (H2) economy based on renewable energy sources in the industrial regions of Upper Austria, Styria and Carinthia. Around 50 Austrian and international partners have joined HI2 Valley. The aim of the project is to achieve an annual production of more than 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen.

A cross-border mentoring programme aimed at improving the capabilities of SMEs in implementing the cascade use model for residual raw materials.
SOLEAS
SOLEAS is a research initiative focused on the development of innovative solar photoreactors that utilise sunlight to generate sustainable energy and energy carriers for the production of materials. This technology represents a significant advance in the field of renewable energy and contributes to addressing the global challenge of sustainable energy generation. The project brings together leading scientists and industry partners from around the world, combining expertise from the fields of photochemistry, materials science, chemical engineering and process engineering.
Green Startupmark
School pupils, students, researchers and those interested in setting up a business receive financial support as they work towards establishing their sustainable business. Green start-ups are supported as they grow, and regional businesses are supported in their green transition.
Green Tech TopRunner
The aim of this funding initiative is to strengthen the sustainability efforts of Styrian and Carinthian companies involved in environmental technology, with a view to achieving carbon-neutral operations and circularity, and to support them in increasing their level of digitalisation and innovation potential. The Green Tech TopRunner project is an exclusive programme through which companies can secure a 75 per cent funding rate for external consultancy services.
Green Utopia
As part of the cross-university and cross-cluster project ‘Green Utopia – made in Green Tech Valley’, teams of students from local colleges and universities are turning the latest high-tech research carried out locally into utopian, visionary short videos.

Conference
Willkommen bei „Vocational Excellence for a Green Europe“, einer innovativen Konferenz, die sich mit der zentralen Rolle der beruflichen Bildung (Vocational Education and Training, VET) bei der Förderung grüner Innovationen und nachhaltiger Praktiken befasst. Die Konferenz findet am 5. und 6. Juni 2024 in Graz und online statt und verspricht, ein Meilenstein für Fachleute und Enthusiasten zu werden, die sich für die Gestaltung einer nachhaltigen Zukunft engagieren. Die Teilnahme an der Konferenz ist kostenlos.
