Behind the slogan “From Sun to Chemical Energy—Enabling Future Sustainable Materials” lies SOLEAS, a groundbreaking research initiative dedicated to the development of innovative solar photoreactors.
The goal is to use sunlight to generate sustainable energy and energy carriers for materials production. The technology represents a significant advance in the field of renewable energy solutions and makes an important contribution to addressing the global challenge of sustainable chemical energy production.
Through comprehensive research and development, new interdisciplinary approaches are being explored to convert solar energy directly into chemical energy and store it in molecular bonds. This approach offers a clean and sustainable alternative to conventional ammonia and ethylene production based on fossil raw materials.
The project brings together leading scientists and industry partners from across Europe and pools expertise in the fields of photochemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, and process engineering.
Participants in the SOLEAS project:
- AEE INTEC (Gleisdorf)
- IC2R (CRICsrl, International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre, Germany)
- German Aerospace Center (DLR)
- NANOSCI (Poland)
- & Green Tech Valley
Expertise Needed: Survey on the Development of an Integrated SOLAR Reactor
Are you an expert in the fields of energy, chemistry, biogas, or the public sector? If so, your experience is exactly what we’re looking for. Practical insights from the industry are essential for developing solutions that work under real-world conditions. A current survey is gathering valuable insights for the development of future energy and industrial systems.
The focus is on:
• the successful integration of solar-powered reactors into real-world industrial systems
• the development of a prosumer concept for future energy systems
• contributions to life cycle analysis (LCA)
• technical requirements for an integrated SOLAR reactor
The survey is:
• tailored to various industries
• anonymous and voluntary
• quick to complete
