We are pleased to invite you to participate in the international symposium “The Human Factor in Regional Development“ to be held on September 19th 2007 in Vienna, Austria, in the Seminarhotel Springer Schloessl from 10:00 to 18:00 o’clock.

The symposium is organised around the three interrelated topics:
Life-long learning,
Knowledge economy and
Regional development

The emphasis will be put on the practical aspects as well as the exchange of concrete ideas and experiences from related projects. Beside the experts’ presentations three thematic moderated work-shops will be held. A joint discussion round at the end of the meeting will streamline the findings from the three work-shops.

A networking lunch and the wall paper session will give opportunity to discuss the questions on the above topics face-to-face with international experts and expert-teams.
Participants will benefit from the symposium either by getting to know an innovative blended learning methodology or by gaining ideas for how to promote actors in regional development.

The event is organised jointly by BLUEWATERS Environmental Consultants, Austria; Pannon University, Hungary; Sapientia University of Transylvania, Romania; Phoenix Innovations Ltd., UK; CILI – Cambridge International Land Institute, UK; MOZAIK – Association for Social Inclusion, Slovenia; IREAS – Institute for Structural Policy, Czech Republic; DNV – Det Norske Veritas, The Netherlands and Without Frontiers Office, Hungary, that are partners in the international project BILLARD – Blended and Integrated Lifelong Learning for Actors in Regional Development funded by the EU Leonardo da Vinci programme.
