International Geothermal Conference Reykjavik 14 -17 September 2003 is among other things held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the UNU Geothermal Training Programme in Iceland.
The main objectives of the IGC-2003 are to:
- Provide an international forum for exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge relating to engineering, environmental, financial and scientific issues of multiform geothermal development
- Demonstrate the indisputable benefits that may be attained from integrated and multi-use of geothermal energy with respect to environmental, socio-economic and pure commercial considerations
- Identify barriers to widespread geothermal development such as legal issues, risk, public attitude, scarcity of funding, and moreover to point out possible measures to overcome or mitigate these
We urge all engineers, scientists, financiers and others active in geothermal development to submit papers relevant to the above for presentation at the IGC2003 and publication in the Proceedings of the Conference.
