The way to sustainable mobility is a big challenge for research and development, technology and policy. One important issue will be energy supply in consideration of backlog demand of developing countries. The combination of mobility and energy will reach more and more pertinence.
The Austrian and German National Committee of World Energy Council as well as Vienna University of Technology capture this important topic for discussion and finding solutions for future. The first conference will be held in the Old Vienna Stock Exchange in Austria on 28./29. February 2008 and considering moving the conference internationally to different countries in following years.
Together with top-ranking experts and about 200 participants, contributions in terms of sustainable mobility are developed. Topics like mobility concepts, fuels, technologies, transportation and logistic strategies for future will find particularly attention. Sustainable mobility will have the task to deal with future demand as well as conserving environment by increasing efficiency and intelligent long term planning. In this respect we consider mobility as an essential part of human life and also for economy. Therefore it is important to start comprehensively and future-oriented discussions with all parties concerned on a neutral platform of a conference. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Vienna and to meeting you at COME 2008.
