Which is why the EU is pushing production of green H2 and has approved the IPCEI Hy2Tech. The aim of the project is to establish a European hydrogen value chain that is innovative, competitive and sustainable. Southern Austria, the Green Tech Valley, is helping lead the way. The first 1 MW high-temperature electrolyser is being developed jointly by the plant manufacturer Christof Industries and the automotive specialist AVL from Graz. The aim is to produce renewable hydrogen at a significantly higher level of efficiency, thus making it far more cost-effective.
