Executive Board member J\u00f6rg Rosegger emphasises that innovation and technological leadership are crucial to maintaining Europe\u2019s position in mechanical engineering in the face of international competition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are convinced that it is only through innovation and a competitive edge that we can sustain mechanical engineering and industry in Europe,\u201d says Rosegger. Investment is being channelled particularly into the field of artificial intelligence to make the machines more efficient in the face of changing conditions.<\/p>\n<h2>Focus on sensor-based sorting<\/h2>\n<p>Investment is being channelled into new technologies such as sensor-based sorting, in which artificial intelligence plays a central role. \u201cAI is capable of adapting quickly to changing conditions,\u201d explains Rosegger.<\/p>\n<p>This should enable Binder+Co\u2019s machines to sort metals or aluminium alloys with greater precision.<\/p>\n<h2>Growth in international markets<\/h2>\n<p>The company sees great potential in the growth markets of South America, Asia and Africa. In the field of glass recycling, the company regards itself as the global market leader, with machines in operation in more than 90 countries. In addition to waste glass, Binder+Co focuses on construction waste and metal recycling, as well as industrial minerals.<\/p>\n<h2>Jobs are being safeguarded<\/h2>\n<p>The company currently employs 416 staff. Despite the increased use of artificial intelligence, jobs are set to be safeguarded.
