Plus-energy commercial tower
The world’s first plus-energy commercial high rise building with the largest building-integrated photovoltaic façade feeds more energy into the grid than it actually needs. PVP Photovoltaik produced 1,200 customized photovoltaic modules of over 40 different sizes for this project, which supply the building with energy. PVP is a technology leader in the field of innovative and customized glass-glass photovoltaic modules.
World’s 1st energy glass tower
The Science Tower is the first building worldwide to incorporate panes of transparent energy glass into the façade for energy harvesting (Grätzel cells) in a large scale. For SFL Technologies, the building is the culmination of many years of pioneering work: with regional power which integrates further technological highlights like the innovative energy storage and intelligent ventilation systems, and its self-sufficiency in energy.

Medical care LED lighting system
XAL, expert for luminaires and lighting systems, with headquarters in Graz, specializes in efficient lighting technology. The new technology RECOVER imitates different properties of natural light and thereby supports the healing process of hospital patients by taking the requirements determined by the circadian rhythm of humans into consideration. Further products are systems for shops, offices, public buildings and living areas.
The world’s largest solar thermal cooling facility
Desert Mountain High School in Arizona is home to a very large solar thermal cooling plant, designed and constructed by the specialised company SOLID. 4,865 m² / 50,000 ft² of collector area and a cooling capacity of 1,750 kW / 500 tons are used for cooling the building. Currently it is the most powerful solar cooling system worldwide.

Keeps warm, stays cool
wInterface with headquarters in Graz, Austria, uses high-tech methods of digital building photography to produce individual heat insulation façades in a fully automated process. High-resolution 3D scans of a building's exterior surface form the basis of the automated production of wInterface insulation elements. Industrial preproduction allows for continuously high levels of product quality. The façade, together with the patented fixing system, is removable and therefore recyclable.
Fully recyclable thermal insulation
A team from the Institute of Architectural Technology at the Technical University (TU) Graz, in co-operation with insulation specialists STO, have broken new ground in façade systems with the "façade4zeroWaste" as the building envelope of tomorrow: a recyclable façade system with hook and loop fastening that can be separated into pure component parts. The system is very easy to install and dismantle again.

Clean water
The new ferroDECONT method, an innovative solid/liquid fluidised bed process for treating water contaminated with heavy metals, provides clean waste water treatment. ferroDECONT has a clear USP: Cleaning toxic waste water without the use of chemicals and recycling its material residues. Zero-valent iron particles make this feasible.
First 3-way sorting machine
REDWAVE has developed the first sensor-based 3-way sorting machine in the fine particle range. By rearranging the outlet guides, grains between as little as 2 and 12 mm can be sorted by both ejector bars with the same efficiency. REDWAVE sorting machines are used in the recycling industry in the fields of plastic, paper, e-waste, glass, metals and wood etc.

The world`s most advanced glass sorting
The glass sorting machine Clarity nexxt by Binder + Co is the world‘s first sorting machine to sort tiny grains of glass with a size of 1mm.
