Realising solar thermal projects in collaboration with dedicated partners.
Just last year, Nicaragua’s largest and most modern hospital was opened with about 400 beds in the capital of Managua. In future, the hospital will be fitted with a 4,450 m² large solar plant, which will cover the entire hot water demand and air-conditioning for sections of the building. The turnkey system, covering design, supply, project management and commissioning, is supplied by the solar technology company SOLID in collaboration with the Austrian project partners Caverion and GREENoneTEC.
“We have already successfully realised more than 300 projects around the world and been able to accumulate a certain degree of experience in technology, project management and project financing. These are precisely the factors that count in successful implementation,” comments SOLID Managing Director, Christian Holter.
The lighthouse project at the hospital in Managua has been developed together with UNIDO and the “National Cleaner Production Centre of Nicaragua” (NCPC)
“This clean energy project saves approximately 1,100 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually and is a milestone for the national energy policy and the Central American region,” explained César Barahona.
