Aqua Engineering has over 50 years of experience in municipal and industrial water treatment and seawater desalination and offers with its international partners professional solutions from planning to turnkey delivery of technical systems.
Found as engineering company in 1963, Aqua Engineering today is a well-known supplier of tailored water and waste water system solutions in the fields of municipal sewage treatment, drinking water and Reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination. Our services range from plant design, process engineering, M&E equipment supply, EPC contracting, supervisory and plant O&M services, training to project financing. Aqua Engineering has delivered more than 100 projects worldwide with over 50 larger scale municipal drinking water, sewage treatment and desalination plants that are situated with majority in the Middle East, central & Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia and China. All together Aqua Engineering plants treat over 2.000.000 m3/day of sewage and supply over 3.500.000 m3/day of drinking water using both land sources and seawater as source. In particular, Aqua Engineering has been a pioneer in the desalination of seawater by use of RO technology and has delivered some of the first commercial desalination plants in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia over 30 years ago. Meanwhile full-scale turnkey plants with a capacity up to 91.000 m³/day drinking water production were successfully delivered and commissioned. Aqua Engineering provides a variety of process technology applications for conventional and advanced water treatment solutions for both municipal and industrial plants and tailors the process design and employed technologies to the individual requirements of customers, plant site and available sources of water that is to be treated. Energy efficiency and availability of plant is key element of our plant design along with high quality of material, performance of employed processes an optimized life cycle cost. Hence, we are also interested to provide technical services and feasibility analysis in the early stages of a project cycle in order to utilize our long-term experience and develop best practice solutions that deliver operating performance to our customers for a long time. Integration of renewable energy technologies with seawater desalination will become a more important feature of cost efficient and sustainable drinking water production from the sea with intelligent production and load management that can minimize – or ideally completely eliminate – the use of conventional fossil fuels power supply. Such concepts are particularly attractive for water supply solutions on islands and remote areas where cost of power is high and supply security is limited.
