The IV-Styria is providing the building blocks for children to build the world of the future.“Build the Change. It´s your future „- The unique concept from LEGO® is brought to Graz by the IV-Styria and offers over 7,000 children and young people space for their visions of the future. „We want to give children a voice and invite them to make their world of the future,“ noted IV-Styria President Jochen Pildner-Steinburg in explaining the basic concept of „Build the Change. It´s your future.“ „The IV-Styria and its member companies are committed to a sustainable and good quality of life. The aim of all our actions is to make Styria a great place to live in for present and for future generations.” With this event the IV-Styria wants to initiate a dialogue about how young people imagine such an attractive place to live in.
Children give answers to questions about the future
„Build the Change. It´s Your Future“ offers children and young people the opportunity to express thoughts, ideas and visions on the future. How will the city of the future evolve from the perspective of children, or what will the school of the future look like? How will we live, learn or move around? The IV-Styria extends a free invitation to all interested parties on 2 to 5 October 2014, to build the change: Promoting Styria as a pioneer and an internationally recognised symbol of high-quality dialogue with children and young people on the future.
100 Styrian industrial enterprises and 100 school classes
On 2 and 3 October 100 Styrian industrial enterprises will give the opportunity for 100 Styrian schools to participate in the event. Saturday 4 October is Industry Construction day, when industry employees and their families get to build the world of the future. „We have declared the afternoons and Sunday as ‘open-house days’”, commented IV-Styria Director Gernot Pagger. „Everybody who would like to join us in thinking about and creating the future is welcome and free ticket are available from 12 September 2014 through the web portal http://www.esistdeinezukunft.at/. Mr. Pagger also reassured that fears about the LEGO® bricks running out due to the large numbers of participants during the four days of the event were unfounded as over 2 tonnes of construction parts have been delivered directly from the Danish LEGO® factory in Billund by articulated trailer. LEGO® Build the Change is an event format, developed by the Danish toy manufacturer, which will take place for the first time in a German speaking country. In autumn Graz will be the scene of the world´s largest „Build the Change“ event: The size of the event exceeds that of the largest ever in Mexico City.
